Hello and many thanks for taking the time to stop by our web site today and I pray thousands and thousands of folks will do the same.
First, I would like to tell you folks out there a little something about myself, and let you know why I dedicated the rest of my life to helping abused and neglected children.
Child abuse and neglect have become epidemics in today’s society. It is found in all cultures, in all races and in all cities all over the world.
Child abuse and neglect take on many different forms. I could list hundreds of different ways that children are abused and neglected, but the bottom line is that child abuse - in any form or fashion - is still child abuse!
Whether it be mental, verbal, physical, emotional, sexual, or caused by neglect or starvation, it’s still abuse and should never, ever be tolerated.
It is up to us, as parents and guardians of our children, to speak up and do something and report any type of suspected abuse. It’s the right thing to do! If child abuse is not reported, then innocent children suffer, and eventually die.
I have seen child abuse up close and personal. I know what it is like to hide in the shadows. Hiding in the shadows is the constant fear of pain and verbal abuse, it's the constant fear of beatings and being belittled on a daily basis and it's living with the fear of abandonment and the fear of the ultimate child abuse ... death.
I have personally seen tortured children who paid the ultimate price of child abuse.
The pain and effect of abuse lasts a whole lifetime …we, the victims, never, ever forget. Abuse takes away the confidence of a child. It causes horrible side effects in the way we live our lives on a daily basis. Our lives become that of total depression, drug and alcohol abuse, isolation, and we never fit into society and never achieve our full potential.
I got a second chance at life a few years ago. That is when I decided, with the help of the Lord, to do something about child abuse. The after effects of child abuse almost took my life. So, I know what it’s all about. Now I will never hide in the shadows and I will work until the day I die to take as many children out of the shadows that I can.
I’ve become an avid and outspoken advocate for abused and neglected children. It's my calling. There is a certain look in the eyes of an abused child. None like any other. I can see that look when I make my travels to lower-income daycares and neighborhoods. I feel their pain. I feel their suffering.
Child abuse is a disease that needs to be stopped. I promised that I will make a difference. I need the help from survivors of abuse as well as the general public to make my visions become realities for the abused.
